LEG VEIN TREATMENT

What are Varicose & Spider Veins?
Both men & women experience Varicose and Spider veins. Spider veins or telengiectasias can take on one of three shapes; spider shape with a group of veins radiating out from the center, barbarizing (sunburst appearing) like a tree, or linear. Varicose veins however, are larger, darker in color and usually bulging. These veins are clusters of red, blue or purple veins that appear on the thighs, calves and ankles. There are many factors that cause these veins, known as telengiectasias to develop including heredity, pregnancy, obesity, prolonged standing and sitting and hormonal influences. They usually develop after age 30 and increase from there.

Why do varicose veins and spider veins usually appear in the legs?
The force of gravity, the pressure of body weight, and the tough task of carrying blood from the legs to the heart are all responsible for the appearance of these veins.

What does Laser Therapy on my legs feel like?
Although many patients report little or no discomfort, some may experience a mild stinging sensation only when the laser pulse is delivered. The cold tip on the laser hand piece helps sooth the skin as the laser is delivered.

How many treatments will I need?
In many cases, significant improvement is realized in as few as 1 to 2 treatments. In some cases new spider veins may appear and therefore additional treatments may be necessary. Treatments may occur at 3 to 4 week intervals.

How do I schedule the procedure?
All cosmetic procedures should be preceded by a consultation with the Physician, offering you the opportunity to learn more about these exciting procedures and to ask questions. We will need to reserve time to be able to perform the first treatment on the day of consultation.
